Chavez Crossing
A short, easy drive to a variety of swimming holes along Oak Creek. 1 hour.
 
Beaver Creek
Easy Jeep drive to Beaver Creek, with easy access at the campground or a short hike to more gorgeous swimming holes. Stop at the V Bar V rock art site, or take a short hike to the Sacred Mountain Ruins. Take a horseback ride at the historic M Diamond Ranch, or stop at the Verde River and rent inner tubes for a leisurely float. 2 hours to all day.
 
Perkinsville Road
Cruise out the old railroad grade to Perkinsville Crossing for a dip in the Verde River. Breathtaking red rock views. Stop at the historic Gold Mine or grab some ice cream in downtown Jerome. Great easy family trip! Half-day out and back, or enjoy exploring some of the other great Jeep trails around Jerome for an all-day excursion.
 
Fossil Creek
A remote but easy drive through old Arizona canyons to the unbelievably turquoise waters of Fossil Creek. Then take the meandering road into Strawberry/Pine for ice cream. All day.
 
Cliffhanger
Experienced drivers only! Take a heart-pounding 4x4 trail down to an old homestead site and one of the most secluded swimming holes on Oak Creek. 2.5 hours.
